uTorrent Error 'Proxy connect error: hostname not found'

You must change the address of the server. Follow these instructions for uTorrent:

  • In uTorrent, goto Options -> Preferences or hit CTRL-P.
  • Select "Connection" on the left side.
  • Change "proxy.btguard.com" to "fix.btguard.com"
  • Restart uTorrent

If you are using a different client, please go to where you input BTGuard settings and change "proxy.btguard.com" to "fix.btguard.com"
