BTGuard Encryption for Linux/Unix

Unless your connection is throttled, this MAY SLOW DOWN your BitTorrent downloads due to encryption overhead!

BTGuard Encryption creates an encrypted tunnel between you and our server. This is designed for people whos connections are throttled by deep packet inspections that cannot be bypassed with just a sock5 proxy (BTGuard by itself). People who are also extremely concered that their connections are deeply monitored may also consider adding this extra layer of protection. Make sure you complete the initial BTGuard setup on your BitTorrent client before adding the encryption.

1. Download btguard_encryption.sh
2. From the command prompt: chmod 700 btguard_encryption.sh
3. Open your BitTorrent client to where you originally setup the BTGuard proxy setting, change "proxy.btguard.com" to "127.0.0.1"
4. Start the BTGuard Encryption Tunnel by double clicking on btguard_encryption.sh or from the command prompt run: ./btguard_encryption.sh

Remember that BTGuard Encryption must be running for your BitTorrent downloads to work now.

To stop BTGuard Encryption, from the command prompt run: ./btguard_encryption.sh stop
